Our postnatal period with a spring baby (Yara)

Yara was born at home, and we opted for a lotus birth.
For the first few days, she basically just lay skin-to-skin with mom, with a diaper and one or two wool blankets around her.

After five days, the placenta detached, and we gently started dressing her.
We quickly noticed that wool wrap-around bodysuits and soft layers worked best — as little friction on her body as possible and plenty of room to move.

What we used a lot was the Hvid set, which she received from her grandparents. Due to the generous sizing, we were able to keep using it for a long time, along with the cocoon for the first few weeks.

For going outside, on colder days we had the Engel overall, and on milder days, her big sister's jacket.
The Hvid booties and the Joha sleeping bag simply went from Cleo to Yara — those are truly items you keep using.

The items below are the things we consistently reached for in the first weeks with a spring baby.
